Flipped Social Studies

The goal of “Flipping” a class is to have the students complete easier or less complicated assignments outside of the classroom.  This allows students to work on higher level or more complicated tasks during class time.  Students can then have the support of the classroom teacher while working on these tasks.

As of now, we have placed the Flipping of classes on hold.  That being said, students will have to study outside of class if they are to be successful on tests and quizzes.  Students may at times need to complete assignemnts on their own if they cannot complete the assignments during the time provided in class.

We have tried to model the skills needed by students for a flipped concept.  Students need strong notetaking skills, the willingness to review materials and ask questions as needed throughout the learning process.
